Comprehensive Care for All Types of Neck Pain
Compared to the rest of your body, your neck is a relatively thin column that encloses your spine and several important blood vessels. It includes the vertebrae that connect your skull with your torso, as well as a variety of muscles and ligaments that allow motion. Any of these tissues can become irritated or inflamed, and that can lead to pain and discomfort.
If you experience neck pain, come to Full Motion Wellness and Rehab. We have over 23 years of experience in treating neck pain with chiropractic care. We'll perform a complete diagnosis and recommend a treatment plan that's personalized for your condition. Call (929) 732-7260 today to schedule your appointment.
Common Causes of Neck Pain
For being as important as it is, your neck is surprisingly vulnerable. It's susceptible to a wide range of injuries and accidents that can damage its tissues and cause pain. Some of the most common causes of neck pain we see in our practice include the following:
- Trauma, including whiplash and injuries
- Muscle tension and strain
- Poor posture
- Injuries from jerking your neck during exercise
- Strain from sleeping in the wrong position
We'll perform a thorough diagnosis that may include a complete medical history, x-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, blood tests, electromyography, or a lumbar puncture. Once we've determined the cause of your neck pain, we'll prescribe the appropriate treatment(s):
- Ice and heat therapy
- Stretching
- Physical therapy
- Pain medication
- Muscle relaxants
Symptoms Beyond Normal Neck Pain
Certain symptoms may go beyond normal neck pain and signal conditions that require medical care outside of the kind provided by a chiropractor. If you experience any of the following symptoms — especially if they last more than a week — please notify Full Motion Wellness and Rehab as soon as possible.
- Lump in your neck
- Severe neck pain
- Fever and headache
- Swollen glands and nausea
- Weakness, numbness, and tingling
